organic
Organic disorders are psychological issues caused by issues in the brain. Changes in a person's brain can have a huge effect on how they function day-to-day. They can lead to changes in the way a person thinks or behaves. Let's look closer at organic disorders caused by two major things: brain trauma and disease.

non-organic
An organic mental disorder (OMD), also known as organic brainsyndrome or chronic organic brain syndrome, is a form of decreased mentalfunction due to a medical or physical disease, rather than a psychiatric illness. This differs from dementia.

Organic disorders

Organic mental disorders are disturbances that may be caused by injury or disease affecting brain tissues as well as by chemical or hormonal abnormalities. Exposure to toxic materials, neurological impairment, or abnormal changes associated with aging can also cause these disorders.

Non-organic disorders

While organic illnesses are characterized by physical and biochemical signs, non-organic disorders manifest only distressing experiences (as pains or anxiety) or undesirable behaviour (as abuse of alcohol)--phenomena that are inseparable from normal sensation, emotion, intentions and actions.
