The members of phanerogams are seed producing plants They produce special reproductive structures which are visible

Phanerogams includes

i)Gymnosperms

1) The Gymnosperms are the plants in which Ovules are not enclosed by any ovary wall and remain exposed both before and after fertilization

2) Gymnosperms are heterosporous they produce haploid microspores and megaspores

ii)Angiosperms

1) These are most evolved advanced terrestrial flowering plants

2) The seeds are enclosed inside the fruit

3) Plant body is differentiated into root stem and leaves

4)The vascular tissues are well developed

5)The flowers are differentiated into four whorls

6)Pollination is direct it may be self or cross

7)Angiosperms show double fertilization

8)Ovule develops into seed and ovary into fruit
