What are Plano-concave lenses.answer in sdd detail
Answers
Okay your answer is right here:
The plano concave lens are the concave lens that are plane on side and concave on the other.
I have given a picture in the attachment.
These lens as you can see is thicker in the edges and they are thinner in the periphery or middle
This will make you clear:
Suppose a concave lens you cut it into two equal halves then the resulting lens become plano concave
Their uses are as follows:
- Plano-Concave Lenses are ideal for beam expansion, light projection, or for expanding an optical system's focal length.
- Plano-Concave Lenses, which have one concave surface, are Optical Lenses with negative focal lengths.
- These Lenses should be oriented with the plano, or flat, surface towards the desired focal plane.
Hope it helps

These lens are mostly used for light projection and beam expansion. For using these in various other optical systems, they are coated with anti-reflective coatings and used to expand light-beams or to increase focal length. They are generally thicker at the edge in comparison to center with one side flat.
