•What are plant hormones ?

)) Plant hormones are those hormones which coordinates the growth, development and various other functions of the plant in responses to the environment.

• There are basically five plant hormones . They are as follows :-

)) Auxins :-- When a growing plant detects light , a hormone called auxin, synthesized at the shoot tip helps the cell to grow longer. As a result, the plant appears to bend towards light.

)) Gibberellins :-- Gibberellins are those hormones which like auxins helps in the growth of a stem.

)) Cytokinins :-- Cytokinins promote cell division and it is natural that they are present in greater concentration in the areas of rapid cell division.

)) Abscisic Acid :-- Abscisic Acid is one of the plant hormones which unlike other plant hormones inhibits growth. It's effect include wilting of leaves.

)) Ethylene :-- Ethylene is a plant hormone that affects ripening and rotting in plants.
