plastids are cell organelle which is present in plant cells. plastid helps in colouring plants like leaves and flowers etc. chloroplast are of three types first chloroplast
second chromoplast
at last leucoplast

They occur in most plant cells and are absent in animal cells.They are of different colours and types as given below:

1)chromoplast : these are the coloured plastids,give fruit ,flower their colour

2)leucoplasts : these are colour less plastids, store food.

3)chloroplasts: they are coloured plastids also called kitchen of the cell. They contain green pigment called chlorophyll i .e essential for photosynthesis and provide green pigment.

Plastids also contain DNA and RNA.
