The pons is a structure located on the brain stem. It is involved in motor control and sensory analysis. Within the pons is the pneumotaxic center. It has parts that are important for the level of consciousness and for sleep and also plays a role in generating dream. Some structures within the pons are linked to the cerebellum, thus are involved in movement and posture

pons are the part of hind brain located in the centre of the brain below the cerebellum and acts like a bridge. it helps in the coordinating muscular movement of both sides of body .it also serve as a relay station between cerebellum, spinal cord and rest of rhe brain
