Protective tissue covers the surface of leaves and the living cells of roots and stems. Its cells are flattened with their top and bottom surfaces parallel. The upper and lower epidermis of the leaf are examples of protective tissue

These tissues are  present in the outermost layer of the plant body like leaves, stem and roots. It is one cell thick and covered with cutin and protects the underlying tissues present in the plant body.if u remeber str. of stomata,protective tissue are presant in them like a guard cell,They prevent loss of water.
