The preamble itself after the 42nd Amendment of 1976 mentions the word ‘Secular’. Although the word ‘Secular’ was not included in the original draft of constitution that was adopted but there were various provisions made to ensure the secular nature.

Right under Article 25 to 28 ensure the secular nature of our country.

* Article 25: Freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion.

* Article 26: Freedom to manage religious affairs.

* Article 27: Freedom as to payment of taxes for promotion of any particular religion.

* Article 28: Freedom as to attendance at religious instruction or religious worship in certain education institutions.

* Article 29: Protection of interests of minorities

* Article 30: Right of minorities to establish and administer educational institutions.

* Also other provisions such as Art.14–16 i.e . Right to Equality ensure that there is no discrimination on the basis of Religion.

Hope it helps..!!
