A radical is a chemical species that contains an unpaired electron. In general, radicals are highly reactive and form new bonds again very quickly . A radical may be electrically neutral .

example- the chlorine molecule undergoes homolysis in ultraviolet light to form two Cl radicals . These are electrically neutral and highly reactive.

Explanation:

hi, there

A radical is an atom of an element or a group of atomsof different elements that behaves as a single unit with a positive or negative charge on it.radicals are of two types. they are basic radicals and acid radicals.

exp: Cl⁻, NH₄⁺, SO₄²⁻ ions are the radicals of chloride ion,ammo- nium ion respectively. (NH₄⁺ , and Cl⁻ are the oppositely charged ions which can combine to form a compound ammonium chloride [NH₄Cl].
