Some herbivores like cows and buffaloes have complicated stomach. There stomach is divided into four chambers. They store the food that they initially swallow in stomach. Thy then sit down and bring the partially digested food back to their mouths and chew it again. This food that is brought back to the mouth from the stomach is called 'cud'. This process is called rumination. Thus, such animals are called ruminants.
