RUSTING OF IRON :

It is a process where the metal got rusted or eaten up layer by layer in presence of water and air.

Rusting makes the metal weak and it gets break easily

It is because iron gets oxidise easily.

4Fe + 3O _ 2 → 2Fe_ 2O_3.

° Rust (oxidation of iron ) when iron gets oxidised in presence of water and exposed in oxygen for a long period of time.
