Seasonal breaders are have oestrous cycles, or heat periods throughout the year which enable them to mate and produce progeny. While continuous breeders have a menstrual cycle, which allow the female organism to release an egg cell every month, thus enabling such organisms to produce progeny anytime throughout the year.
