shooting stars look like stars that quickly shoot across the sky but they are not stars . a shooting star is really a small piece of rock or dust that hits the earths surface .    comets are self luminous celestial bodies which have a long luminous tale and a head .  asteroids is a large rock in outer space .   meteors are smaller then asteriods . a meteroid is a small rocky or mettalic body in outer space .
