The halogens include five elements fluorine, chlorine, iodine bromine and astatine.T hey make up column 17 in the periodic table.they share my similarities.some of them are:
1. they all form acids when combined with hydrogen.
2.they are all fairly toxic.
3.t hey readily combine with metals to form salts.
4. they are non metals.
5 .they have 7electrons in their valence shell.
6.they are highly reactive and electronegative.
