soaps are the salts of K and Na with long chain of fatty acids.Its general formula is RCOONA or RCOOK. soaps contains two parts in it head and tail part. Head is hydrophilic where as tail is hydrophobic.
so tail part is attracted towards the dirt and led to the formation of micelle.
