Answer:

A solid is a sample of matter that retains its shape and density when not confined. The adjective solid describes the state, or condition, of matter having this property.

Examples of solids are common table salt, table sugar, water ice, frozen carbon dioxide (dry ice), glass, rock, most metals, and wood.

hope it helps✌

Hey Buddy

Your answer is :-

Ans :-

Some Hard

Solid is a state of matter which has a definite shape, volume and high rigidity, high density, they cannot flow. They are almost incompressible and have any number of free surfaces. The intermolecular space between the particles of solid is minimum, the force of attraction is maximum and the particles vibrate only about their mean position. The particles of solids do not diffuse with other solid particles.

Eg-table, pen etc.

OR

Easy

Any matter which has a definite shape , size and volume is called solid .

If you want to elaborate it ,

They have high rigidity , very less fluidity and compressibility.

Eg-pencil, box etc

OR

Some easy

A solid is a sample of matter that retains its shape and density when not confined.Solid have a definite shape, mass and volume.Solids have very short intermolecular distances.Intermolecular forces are very strong and they are incompressible and rigid.

Eg -TV or television ,Bridge etc.
