The reflecting surface of such mirrors can be considered to form a part of the surface of a sphere. A spherical mirror, whose reflecting surface is curved inwards, i.e. faces towards the centre of the sphere, is called a concave mirror.

Spherical Mirrors :

A mirror with a surface that is either concave or convex and forms a portion of a true sphere

Uses of Spherical Mirrors:

They form upright, enlarged images, and are therefore useful in makeup application or shaving. They are also used in flashlights and headlights because they project parallel beams of light, and in telescopes because they focus light to produce greatly enlarged images.
