Structural difference:
*The arteries have thick and more muscular walls.They are deeply placed in the body
*The veins have thin and less muscular walls.They are usually superficially placed in the body.
*The capillary is a very narrow blood vessel whose walls have a single layer of cells. The walls are very thin.
Functional difference:
*The arteries carry the blood away from the heart .
*The veins carry blood towards the heart.
*The capillaries help in the exchange of nutrients,waste products and gases between the blood and the body fluids
