A subset is a set which has some (or all) of the elements of another set, called superset, but does not have any elements that the superset does not have. A subset which does not have all the elements of its superset is called a proper subset.

Example: A = {1, 3, 5},

B = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5},

C = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}

A is a subset of B, A ⊆ B. because every element in A is also in B.

A is also proper subset of B, A ⊂ B.
