What are the 2 main ways of changing physical state of matter?
Answers
Explanation:
The two main ways of changing physical state of matter are temperature and pressure.
When we heat a solid substance then due to the heat, strong force of attraction between the molecules starts to decrease. As a result, molecules move apart from each other and starts to collide more rapidly.
Thus, kinetic energy increases between the molecules. Hence, solid state changes into liquid state.
For example, when ice is kept at room temperature then due to the heat in atmosphere, ice melts and changes into liquid state.
Also when we decrease the temperature, liquid changes into solid state. Like cooling of water results in the formation of ice.
On the other hand, on increasing the pressure on water vapours the molecules come closer to each other as a result, force of attraction between the molecules increases. Thus, gaseous state changes into liquid state.
