There are three rules for congruency. All the three specify three data. They are :

Length of the three sides

Length of 2 sides and included angle

Two angles and the length of the included line (between the two angles)

In a triangle, we have information about the length of the three sides and the value of the 3 internal angles formed when the two sides of the triangle intersect. Out of these 6 values if we know the following combinations of the values we can easily construct the triangle:

Lengths of all the 3 sides (SSS triangle construction)Length of 2 sides and the measure of the internal angle formed between them (SAS triangle construction)Measure of the 2 internal angles and the length of the included side (ASA triangle construction)
