RBC [Red Blood cells] transport Oxygen for aerobic respiration.
Function:RBC absorbs the O2 in the lungs and passes through narrow blood vessels and releases O2 to Cells .
To perform their Function RBC's have adaptations :
--> Hemoglobin:
RBC contain Hemoglobin which combines with Oxygen.
---> Absence of nucleus:
As they have no nucleus, They can mix with more hemoglobin.
-->They are small and flexible in nature which make them pass through narrow blood vessels.
--> They have Biconcave shape :
The biconcave surface maximizes the surface area to carry more amount of O2.
