What are the advantage of biodiversity
Answers
Advantages:
1) By having more biodiversity the environment can be conserved and saved from disturbance of ecosystem
2) More plants means the better environment and lesser effect of green house gases or temperature rising.
3) The biodiversity helps to maintain the food web circle , disturbing can result in the scarcity of food.
Disadvantage:
1) More biodiversity means more of animals and plants hence the population and living of humans can be restricted
2) Excess of wild animals can harm the humans
3) The establishment of the forest cause cost.
Answer :-
The advantages / benefits of biodiversity are as follows :-
•Ecological benefits :-
A more diverse ecosystem is better able to withstand environmental stress and consequently is more productive.
The loss of a species is thus likely to decrease the ability of the ecosystem to maintain itself or to recover from damage or disturbance.
•Economic benefits :-
Some of the important economic commodities like food, crops, livestock, forestry and fishes, are supplied to Humankind.
•Medication :-
Wild plant species have been used for medicinal purposes since before the beginning of recorded history.
•Industry :-
Biodiversity may serve as a great source of energy (Biomass).
Industrial products such as oils, lubricants, perfumes, fragrances, dyes, paper, waxes, rubber, latexes, resins, poisons and cork, can be derived from various plant species.
Supplies from animal origin include wool, skin, fur, leather, lubricants and waxes. Animals may also be used as a mode of transport.
•Tourism and recreation :-
Biodiversity is a source of economical wealth for many areas, such as parks and forests, where nature and animals serve as the sources of joy for many people.
Ecotourism, in particular, is enhancing outdoor recreational activities.
•Scientific benefits :-
Biodiversity is important because each species can give scientists some clue as to how life evolved and how it will continue to evolve on Earth.
In addition, biodiversity helps scientists understand how life functions and also informs about the role of each and every species in sustaining the ecosystem.
