ADVANTAGES:
1. Huge amount of depth of field
2. Very unique look due to the lack of a lens
3. Can use a variety of film/paper sizes such as 4"x5" or even 11"x14" film
4. Very cheap, simple and easy to use.
5. Fun to use
6. Can leave it in a public place during the long exposure and if some steals it, it's no big deal.

DISADVANTAGES:
1. Very long exposure times
2. Soft focus - Don't expect a lot of detail
3. Limited subject matter due to the simplicity of the camera and the long exposures required.

The main advantage is the same as the main disadvantage:
Its simplicity.

The "lens" of a pinhole camera is the size of the whole. You can only use a very small hole. The "focal length" of a pinhole camera is the distance from the hole to where the film is. The disadvantage is the pictures are out of focus and the exposure is a hit-or-miss thing...

Pinhole cameras are good for experimentation, but you REALLY need access to a darkroom.

The main problem is working out exposure.

Technically, you could use a DSLR with a pinhole in the body cap, but locating the precise centre of the cap is an interesting experience.

Answer:

The advantages and disadvantages of a pinhole camera are explained below.

Explanation: A pinhole camera is a straightforward box-shaped camera without a lens. A small hole in one of the sides causes the opposite side to show an inverted image of the outside world. For enhanced visibility, the box should be painted black on the interior and outside. Bright light should be shining on the object whose picture is to be viewed.

Advantage - The size of a pinhole camera is one of its key benefits. These cameras can be found in a variety of sizes, including small and covert ones, because a lens is not necessary. As a result, pinhole cameras can be made to seem like many different items, including pens, headphones, and even eyeglass frames.

Disadvantage - The resulting image is vague and lacks information. It usually isn't strong. The image is obtained on the screen. No long-term copy of the image is possible. Moving objects cannot be observed using a pinhole camera.
