Answer:

Our genes are inherited from our parents, and the different combinations of these genes make us unique. Genetic inheritance controls the characteristics of all living things.

Advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproduction

Sexual reproduction involves two parents and the joining of male and female gametes during fertilisation. The offspring inherit a mixture of genes from both parents, so are different to each other and their parents.

The advantages of sexual reproduction:

1. produces genetic variation in the offspring.

2. the species can adapt to new environments due to variation, which gives them a survival advantage.

3. a disease is less likely to affect all the individuals in a population.

In asexual reproduction there is only one parent. The offspring are clones of the parent and each other.

The advantages of asexual reproduction include:

1. the population can increase rapidly when the conditions are favourable.

2. it is more time and energy efficient as you don't need a mate

it is faster than sexual reproduction.

I hope it will help you!

ADVANTAGES:

1. Asexual Reproduction is simple and

fast.

2. A large no. of organism can be produced within a very less time.

3. Offsprings can be produced without a partner.

DISADVANTAGES:

1. Evolutionary change isn't possible as no variation is produced. A species consequently cannot adapt to change in its environment.

2. Asexual Reproduction produces identical organism generation after generation. In case of any defect in the parent organism, the offspring also inherit it.
