→We Use Pipelines for Easily Transporting Water,Now we Even use it for transporting Crude Oil,Petroleum&Natural Gas,or Basically we use it for transporting any Liquid Substance,One Advantage is also that its a Favourable form Of transportation,I.e:- Its Construction cost is High↑ and Maintanence Cost is Low↓.

What is water transportation?

It is the process of moving people, goods or some other resources by ship, boat , sailboat over a sea, ocean , lake , canal from one place to another

There are two types of water ways★

  • Sea routes:- These routes are widely used for the transportation of goods internationally i.e from one country to another.

  • Major sea routes of India are Mumbai, Surat, Vishakapatnam etc. Globally, Singapore, Newyork etc.

  • Inland Waterways :- These Waterways include rivers, canals, backwater etc which are navigable.

  • Some major inland waterways in India are Ganga Bhramaputra river system, rivers of Goa, backwaters of Kerala etc. Globally lakes of North America, Suez Canal, Nile river etc .

Advantages of water transportation★

  • Water transports carry much larger quantities of heavy and bulky goods such as coal, and, timber etc.

  • This mode of transportation is fuel-efficient and also environment-friendly mode of transport.

Disadvantages

  • This mode of transportation much more slower than Road transportation or Air transportation.

  • Water transportation is also unsuitable for short distance journeys, due to being costly and time-consuming.
