Humility is very important. I’ll give you an example of two really strong women I know. They are both extremely well off financially, and both are influential people in the society with a great ability to get things done. Yet, one is humble and the other, not so much. Whenever someone falls in trouble or needs help, they approach the former lady. Young or old, woman or man, rich or poor, abled or disabled, they approach the humble lady for help and/or advice without hesitation. They see her in such high regards and respect her so much. The not-so-humble woman, on the other hand, also gives great advice and helps people out, but people don’t approach her as much. They do acknowledge her importance, but they do not respect her as much as they fear her. They’re both incredible human beings and both do so much for their communities, yet one is so well-loved because of her humility while the other isn’t.
The benefits of being humble are love and respect, and these benefits may be intangible but they are priceless.
