what are the adverse effect of corrosion
Answers
Corrosion is the destructive attack of a material by electo/chemical reaction with its environment. For most of us, corrosion is the degradation of metals that is often called rust. The corrosion resistance of any material depends on the environment to which it is exposed. The serious consequences of the corrosion process have become a problem of worldwide significance. The total annual costs in the U.S. are expected to above $1 trillion in 2013. However, the cost of corrosion is not just financial. Corrosion causes plant shutdowns, waste of valuable resources, loss or contamination of product, reduction in efficiency, costly maintenance, and expensive overdesign. The study is aim to raise public awareness about corrosion and corrosion control.
