Set theory is a branch of mathematical logic that studiessets, which informally are collections of objects. Although any type of object can be collected into a set, set theory is applied most often to objects that are relevant to mathematics.

the generality of set theory leads to few direct applications.instead, precisely because of its generality, portions of the theory are used in developing of algebra of group, rings and field as well as,in developing a logical basis for calculus geometry and topology.
