The following are the basic plans of body design in animals:

1. Cell aggregate plan

In animals having cell aggregate plan, we can see them having cluster or aggregation of cells with a rudimentary kind of division of labour in them. Example of an animal having this kind of plan is Sponges. No tissues and organs are found in the animals possessing this plan. Also, they lack the nervous system.

2. Blind sac plan

The animals having this plan are of such kind that they have only one opening to the outside in their body as their digestive cavity. They ingest the food material from this opening and also removes the undigested materials from the same opening. Examples includes: Platyhelminthes and Coelenterates.

3. Tube within a tube plan

This plan is found in the complex animals. In this kind of plan, the body cavity or the coelom forms a tube within which is present another tube like the alimentary canal. This canal has an opening on mouth and the other opening on anus.
