Some of the characteristics which are used today to classify organisms are as follows:

→Prokaryotic or Eukaryotic cell.
→Unicellular or Multicellular.
→Autotrophs (Photosynthetic) or Heterotrophs (Non-photosynthetic).
→The level of organization and development of organs.

General Characteristics of:

FLATWORM-

→ Flatworms, like all worms, are invertebrates with bilateral symmetry, meaning they have fronts and backs.
→Flatworms are soft and paper thin (The most defining characteristic, hence their name). →Their brains are not much more than small clusters of nerves placed near the sensory organs to improve response time.
→Flatworms are either parasites or free-living (called Tubellarians).
→Flatworms vary in size from twelve meters two fractions of a centimeter.
→Their food and waste enter and leave through the same opening.
→Flatworms belong to the phylum Platyheminthes.

ROUNDWORM-

→Roundworms make up the phylum Nematoda.
→Roundworms have a pseudocoelom and hydrostatic skeleton.
→Their body is covered with tough cuticle.
→Free-living roundworms are found mainly in freshwater habitats.
→Parasitic roundworms have a variety of hosts, including humans.

SEGMENTED WORMS-

→Belongs to phylum Annelida.
→Have segmentation.
→They have three germinal layers.
→Have true coelom.
→Head develops first (Protostomal)
→Their hairs are made up of Chitin.
