In response to these alterations, many native U.S. grasslands and grassland species are in decline and climate change is expected to add to or exacerbate existing stressors that threaten these ecosystems. Although there are serious causes for concern, climate change may represent an opportunity to develop a broader, more responsive, and collaborative management paradigm

Temperate Grassland is defined as type of Grassland which is mainly found in North America and Euraisa.

The benefits of Temperate Grassland are as follows:-

  • Due to rich  in soil, most of the temperate grassland is used as a cultivation land and thus a good source of agriculture also.
  • They experience cold winters and warm summers with some rain. As the scanty rainfall is present, few trees are found here.
  • These environment produce long and extensive roots which dip deep into mollisol which is soft, nutrient rich soil.
  • Animals which are inhabited in these grasslands are bison, antelope, insects etc.
  • Their importance in the contribution of food supply and milk production as well as in meat production is immense.

Temperate grassland is known differently in different regions like Pampas in South America, Prairies in North America and Steppe in Eurasia.
