What are the benefits of mixing ethanol with petrol and diesel? Answer the Question

It like mixing water with milkYes, to increase the quantity of fuel, ethanol adding to the petrol and diesel. BTW ethanol can't be use directly (100%). Because it leads to damage of engine components due to dry run. Production cost ethanol also low comparing to fossil fuels.
