Cause of excess rainfall

as temperature increases,an air mass can hold exponentialally more moisture(water vapour);a warm air mass can hold much more moisture than a cold one.because moisture is necessary ingredient of rainfall,a warm air can lead to longer,heavier rain than the cold one.

cause of scanty rainfall

the proximate or immidiate cause of rainfall shortagemay be due to one or more factors including an absence of available moisture in the atmosphere;large scale subsidence (downword movement of air within the atmosphere),which suppresses convective activity,and the absence or non-arrival of rain-bearing system.
