The causes of floods is the indiscriminate cutting of trees.It is because the trees hold the roots of trees in a such way that they didn't allow them to wash away. Infact afforestation can be a very helpful in this regard. Cutting of upper layer of soil is also a major cause.Sometimes they also occur due to natural cause.
