Iron deficiency, commonly termed as anaemia, is a condition where your body has less content of iron or RBCs. It can be caused due to the following:
- Menstruation in women, where there is loss of blood
- A diet where there is lack of iron-rich food
- Vegetarianism, where people don’t eat meat
- Frequent blood donations
- Problems during gestation, wherein your consumed food is not rich in iron

The causes of Iron deficiency in plants have many reasons which are as follows:
- Presences of too much water in the soil leaches out the available iron present in the soil and make it unavailable to the plant.
- There is a deficiency of manganese in the soil because it helps as a cofactor and help in the uptake of the iron.
- Presence of too much fertiliser in the soil which binds the iron particles and makes it unavailable for the plants to uptake it.
- The soil pH is higher than 6.5 which interfere with the uptake of iron.
