Sound is defined as a form of energy which produces sensation of hearing.Sound is produced when an object vibrates.

Characteristics of Sound :

Loudness :

It is determined by amplitude of the sound waves i.e greater the amplitude louder the sound and lesser the amplitude softer the sound.

Pitch :

It is defined as how brain interprets the frequency of the sound wave. Greater the frequency means high pitched sound , lesser the frequency means low pitched sound.

Quality of Sound :

It is the characteristic of sound which enables us to distinguish one sound from the other even if they have same frequency and loudness.
