• Use toilet as a trash can:- Toilets are the biggest source of water use in our home.  Every time flush a feminine product or facial tissue, leads to waste  5 to 7 gallons of water.
• Taking long showers:- The average person shower uses 17.2 gallons of water for about 8 minutes. Each load of laundry that we do is pretty full, takes a lot of water.
• Washing the vehicles with the fresh water would be the reason of wastage of a lot of water.
• Washing dishes with running water waste a lot of water.
• The habit of running the water during brushing your teeth and shaving.
• Leaky pipes can waste 4,000 drops of water. Possibly a lot of water is wasted by leaked pipes and loose taps.

Some solutions to avoid wastage of water:-

• During washing dishes, fill up the sink with soap and water and let the dishes soak for sometime then wash them off.

• During brushing your teeth, simply remind yourself to turn water off, if there is no reason the water requires to be running.
• It is our responsibility to keep an eye out for leaks such as around toilet, hose bibbs, faucets that you use often. Try to repair or replace leaking water pipes as soon as possible to avoid the wastage of water.
• It is best to water your lawn in the morning  during the summertime, then the air becomes cooler and water evaporates more slowly.
