consequences of deforestation

1. deforestation increases the level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. we exhale CO2 and conbustion process also produce CO2. plants also give out CO2 gas in environment. this CO2 is taken by green plants during the process of photosynthesis. fewer trees mainly due to will be used up the resulting in its increased amount. CO2 traps the heat rays reflected by the surface of earth and increase the atmospheric temperature it affect the water cycle, and may result in lower rainfall and cause droughts. it leads to climatic changes.

2. it causes increase in soil erosion. top soil contains humans, which is fertile. when is the top soil gets eroded, lower hard and Rocky soil gets exposed continued soil erosion converts the land into diesel at this is called desertification.

3. deforestation leads to decrease water holding capacity of soil it reduces infiltration of water into the ground and causes frequent floods. the fertile topsoil is washed away with the flood water.

hope it helps!
