Consequences of female foeticide:

  • Female foeticide is process by which gender of an embryo is recognized during its intrauterine life by means of modern-day technologies like ultrasonography, or MRI, etc.
  • This incident of female foeticide was very much prevalent in India in past few years which has decreased now because, of mental upbringing of people and stringent laws.
  • People think only boys can continue a generation and they are only earning member, a girl is only a burden in their family.
  • But, not only that these ideas are totally false, but female foeticide brings up many problems with it like – gender inequality, reduction of females in society, loss of many good important genes from gene pool, etc.
