The British crown assumed direct control of India and EIC's operations are suspended in totality. Consequently, the Court of Directors and Board of control was abolished. (Government of India Act,1958.)
Governor General Of India now to be known as 'Viceroy', who would be the direct representative of the British crown in India. Also the secretary of state would, from now on, be responsible to British parliament for all affairs relating to India and it's governance.
The secretary of State to also have a 15 member council to assist him in taking sections regarding governance of India.
