what are the contribution of Indian ocean to develop the culture and traditional of India?

The INDIAN OCEAN is the 3rd largest ocean among the world. And it's contribution are that most of the southern rivers meet at Indian Ocean, The Palak Strait is also located in the Indian Ocean and our culture believe that the LORD RAM has build this strait.

ONE Question arises that why it's name is INDIAN OCEAN?
Because no country except India has a long marine time boundary in Indian Ocean.
