Autotrophic mode of Nutrition :

This is the nutrition which is used by the green plants and some autotrophic bacteria to prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis.

The organisms which have autotrophic mode of Nutrition are known as autotrophs.

Photosynthesis - The process of preparing their own food by the autotrophs with the help of chlorophyll in the presence of Carbon dioxide and sunlight is known as photosynthesis.

There are three steps involved in photosynthesis :

• Absorption of the sunlight

• Reduction of NADPH and formation of ATP

• Conversion of the sunlight into the chemical energy and break down of Carbon dioxide into carbohydrates.

The food is prepared in photosynthesis is known as glucose.

The food is stored in the form of starch.

The food is transported in the form of sucrose.

Also , the chlorophyll is present in the chloroplasts and in chloroplasts they are present in thalakoids.
