Magma is the molten rock found in the mantle of the earth which has a high temperature.

Lava is the same magma which comes out of the crust of earth through a volcano . It's temperature is decreased as it cools down due to temperature variation of the mantle and the crust.

When the rock constituents are subducted below the crust, bt the virtue of plate tectonic movement ; it is subjected to high temperature and pressure due to which components of rock melt and from mixture of partially and fully melted minerals along with water and gases which may be released during chang in state of matter in terms of mineral..... This molten mixture is known as magma.
When the mixture comes over to the surface due to effects of plate tectonics and pressure difference between outer surface and below the crust and yes " volcanism", it is known as lava.
