•Mitosis consists of one stage whereas meiosis consists of two stages.

•Mitosis produces diploid cells (46 chromosomes) whereas meiosis produces haploid cells (23 chromosomes).

•Mitosis produces two identical daughter cells whereas meiosis produces four genetically different daughter cells.

Mitosis is responsible for growth and developement of body whereas meiosis is responsible for production of gametes

Mitosis occurs mostly in every part of the body whereas meiosis occurs in reproductive parts only

Mitosis have diploid (2n) chromosomes wheres as meiosis have haploid(n) chromosomes
