Dear Student

Similarities between compounds and molecules -

The molecules are made up of compounds, therefore the former can be considered as the smallest part of the later.

Also, we can consider the fact that both are made up of molecules.

Both are made up of atoms.

Both are held together by chemical bonds.

Differences between compounds and molecules -

A molecule is formed when two or more atoms are found in a chemical combination or grouped together chemically, for example, Hydrogen (H2) , Oxygen (O2) and Nitrogen (N2).

A compound is a molecule which is made up of two different elements, for example, Water (H2O), Methane (CH4), etc.

Chemically, all compounds are molecules but all molecules are not compounds.
