Differences and similarities between the Philippines art and Southeast Asia art are:
- The similarities between the Philippines and Southeast Asia are seen prior to the era of colonization.
- The Philippines shares a common aspect as that with other countries of Southeast Asia in terms of wealth, textile, art etc.
- Southeast Asian countries along with the Philippines were rich with resources of gold. they traded gold and other forms of art with neighbouring countries.
- Trade developed a relationship between the surrounding countries which even influenced their form of art as well. Gold was the primary metal used for making ornaments which clearly showcase the form of art, culture and talent.
- Similarly, the textile also shares a lot of similarities between the Philippines and the Southeast Asian countries they use patterns and the choice of textiles is quite similar.
- But the colonization of the Philippines by Spain influenced textile art along with community art which now propagated the catholic faith. The Spanish art changed a lot of the art base of Phillinnes by teaching them different strokes of brushes dramatically changing their original form of art.
