  • These have been put into use for  long time.
  • They are highly polluting except hydro power plants.
  • Mainly consists of non renewable resources.
  • eg : Thermal energy.

Non-Conventional

  • These have been recently put to use.
  • They are non polluting except nuclear power plant.
  • They consist of renewable sources of energy
  • eg : Wind energy , solar energy etc.
