What are the differences between irrigation and its methods now and the one 30 years back?

earlier irrigation was Done through hand labour i.e. manually by bucket but now with technologies like pump.

In the early years, farmer used to plough their fields manually or with the help of bullocks. There were not much facilities of irrigation. They were dependent on monsoon rains which were quite irregular.Persian wheels were used during those times to draw water from the wells.But with the advancement in the technology,the farmers set up tube wells for irrigation,and made use of HYV seeds,chemical fertilizer and pesticides in farming.Even irrigation is also done by sprinklers,drip irrigation and other methods..
