What are the differences between normal and transition elements?

Normal elements are found between groups 1,2 and the 13-18(or zero group);while transition elements are found from group 3 to 12 in the modern periodic table.
transition elements are placed between metals(highly electropositive) on the left and non-metals(highly electronegative) on the right
